Earthquake message of support - The children in Rm 11 participated in the Red-and-black day as a way of showing their support and concern for those who have been so badly affected by the Christchurch quake.
Christchurch Tribute - The school acknowledged the people so badly affected by the Christchurch earthquake.
Official Opening of the new facilities - Waikanae School has seen a period of rapid growth and development as it has become more and more popular as a place where there is an expectation of high standards and pupils having high engagement with learning. The roll growth, which has included both local and some out of zone children, has necessitated additional classroom and administration space, and the resulting upgrade to the school has provided these high quality facilities. There is high parental interest and involvement in school life and this helps support the school in providing excellent learning resources and opportunities.
Chris on guitar - Chris has been learning the guitar. As part of the homework challenges he decided to play for the class. He is more skilled than his classroom teacher when it comes to guitar playing!
