Angela joined the Waikanae Staff from Paraparaumu Beach School in February 2009. She is an experienced and vibrant teacher who will add to our school culture.

Martin is a fourth year teacher working in our Year 7/8 Team. Prior to taking up teaching Martin was an officer in the NZ Army. Martin has recently been elected to the Board of Trustees as the Staff Representative.

Lucy joined our full time teaching staff in 2010. Lucy formerly taught at Kapanui and is returning to teaching after a five year break Lucy is an experienced teacher who will add to our mix of talents on staff.

Peter is a member of our Year 5/6 teaching team. Peter wears many hats and has a number of roles in both Waikanae School and the wider educational community. Over the past few years his roles have included NZEI (Otaki/Kapiti)Chairperson and BoT Staff Representative. Peter is an ICT enthusiast and is primarily responsible for the development of our school network.

Lisa joined the staff in July 2009. She is an energetic and exciting young teacher who is keen to contribute to the wider aspects of Waikanae School

Jane teaches in our Year 5/6 syndicate. Jane was firstly a parent at Waikanae School and then joined the staff in 2005 as a full time teacher.

Doris teaches in our Year 5/6 syndicate. Doris joined the staff in 2006 as a part time teacher and worked in various classes. She is now the full time teacher in Room 18. Doris is also our Kapa Haka Tutor.

Mandy has been with Waikanae School for nearly eight years. She has taught at a variety of levels throughout the school. Mandy is the coordinator of our school netball teams and is very active in wider netball circles.

Carly joined the staff during Term One in a day to day capacity and we were so impressed that we have employed her through until the end of this year. Carly is in her first year of teaching and has moved up from Christchurch to work with us.

Paul is a member of the Year 3/4 teaching team. Paul has been at Waikanae School since 1997 and he brings a couple of his passions to work every day, these being singing and running. Paul is often seen running the Main Road to/from school or out around the Hemi Matenga track with groups of students.

Maartje joined Waikanae School in July 2008 and taught one of our New Entrant classes. Maartje is from Holland and trained as a Kindergarten/ Primary Teacher in the Netherlands. In 2011 Maartje will be teaching one of our two all boys classes.

Tracy is a teacher who is passionate about literacy. Tracy was the reading recovery Tutor for 07/08 and brings a wealth of expertise in literacy to her new role in the junior school.

Regina teaches a Year 1/2 class in Room 6. Regina is 60% of the teaching team in Room 6. Regina team teaches with Caroline McDonald as she is also our Reading Recovery Tutor for 2009/10. Regina has a passion for the Performing Arts and has a major input into our School Productions.

Elizabeth is a Canadian who joined the school in 2010, Liz will be teaching one of our the New Entrant Classes in Room 7.

Rosie is our one of our New Entrant/Reception Class teachers. She is passionate about her job and provides a dynamic introduction for her student's first year at school. This year she will be working a 50/50 job share with Colleen McQuillan

Paul has been working in various capacities at Waikanae School for a three years. This year he will be a member of the senior team as part time teacher providing cover for management and CRT release.

Fiona has taught at Waikanae School of and on for a number of years. She is a highly experienced teacher and well versed in the arts of integrating five year olds into the primary system. Fiona will be working with a small but growing group of students from 1 August in Room 5
